Document what was built

Start with the address, description of the completed work, approximate dates, photographs and any original plans. Keep contractor records and the violation notice, if one exists. The reviewing authority needs to evaluate the actual work rather than only a proposed design.

A later application is not automatic approval

Existing construction may require drawings, inspections or corrective work to satisfy the authority. Miami-Dade’s homeowner information states that work without a permit can be subject to violation penalties when a notice is issued. Confirm the applicable requirements for your jurisdiction and case.

Identify the professional work needed

Ask whether plans or an evaluation are needed from a qualified professional and who will perform any correction work. All Permit Pros can coordinate application documents and follow-up within the agreed scope, while technical judgments remain with the responsible professionals and reviewing agency.

Know what completion means

Keep permit issuance, inspection approval and violation closure as separate items. Send us the current record and notice so we can discuss the next administrative steps.
