Identify the review requested

DERM is Miami-Dade’s environmental review division. County plan-review resources include environmental checklists for building-permit approval. Start with the project scope and the specific checklist or comment issued, rather than treating every environmental request as the same application.

Keep references connected

A municipal project can also need County approval. Retain the City application reference and County process number, and match revised documents to the review they answer. Uploading a document to one record does not establish that another reviewing office has accepted it.

Prepare a useful response package

Gather the latest comments, site information and plans relevant to the requested review. Ask the responsible professional to address technical questions. We help coordinate the paperwork and follow-up for the agreed scope; the agency determines compliance.

Do not stop at one approval

Environmental review may be one of several items needed before permit issuance. Ask which reviews and issuance holds remain so the project team can focus on the next action.
